Responsibilities
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related instruments
  • Advise clients on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning strategies
  • Design and implement wealth transfer plans for high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Handle estate and trust administration matters, including probate proceedings and fiduciary guidance
  • Collaborate with attorneys in corporate, real estate, and tax practices on integrated planning matters
  • Communicate directly with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals
  • Stay current on changes in estate planning, tax laws, and regulatory developments
  • Contribute to business development, client retention, and firm marketing efforts as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license and good standing with the [State] Bar
  • 4+ years of experience in estate planning and trust administration
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and income tax laws
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients preferred
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Experience
  • LL.M. in Taxation
  • Experience with advanced planning techniques (e.g., GRATs, SLATs, ILITs, charitable planning)
  • Exposure to business succession planning
  • Prior experience in a multi-practice or full-service law firm
