Overview

The ideal candidate will possess experience in litigation, preferably in personal injury as well as workers' compensation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic law office environment where legal research, drafting, and negotiation are integral parts of daily responsibilities. This position will play a key role in representing clients effectively.

Duties
  • Manage a diverse caseload involving workers' compensation claims and personal injury lawsuits.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Lexis Nexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure up-to-date legal knowledge.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and other litigation-related paperwork with precision and clarity.
  • Develop case strategies through detailed analysis of facts and applicable laws; negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations with professionalism and advocacy skills.
  • Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines efficiently within the law office setting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal issues requiring research and innovative problem-solving.
Experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the South Carolina state bar with proven experience in litigation practice.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workers' compensation law and/or personal injury law
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Strong writing skills with experience in legal drafting and documentation.
  • Prior experience working within a busy law office environment is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to handle complex litigation cases effectively.
