What you’ll do
The Specialist JIS Material Planner will collaborate with suppliers and establish a strong supply chain, ensure there is enough material at our production plants, and report to the Manager, Material Planning.

- Collaboration in developing, designing and implementing planning concepts and projects for the JIS disposition.
- Supporting the suppliers in necessary JIS processes such as transportation, infrastructure, packaging, scheduling, and equipment to ensure a cost-optimal and reliable supply chain of the parts.
- Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing appropriate measures for the entire activities of the JIT process (e.g., parts lists, disposition releases and their advance information, security circulations).
- Early identification of potential risks in the supply chain. Active development and cross-departmental alignment and follow up of countermeasures as part of bottleneck control including checking the parts inventory.
- Clarification and sustainable elimination of problems of the JIT process (e.g., coordination and responsible monitoring of the accuracy and stability of IT processes).
- Identifying, processing, and maintaining data for part inventory management and control, as well as processing complaints and initiating inventories, including examination of the capacities of the JIT suppliers in coordination with the requirements of the operational production program.
- Establishing ongoing, constructive and cooperative communication with the suppliers.
- Developing, editing, monitoring and optimizing the material flow and delivery program and the production programs with the JIT suppliers.
- Assumption of special tasks corresponding to the skills and duties of the job holder.
- This role is carried out in cooperation with supervisors and involved departments in compliance with existing guidelines, standards and regulations.
- This role will be based at the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role may require in-person collaboration with Scout colleagues and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 4+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics (e.g., inbound/outbound logistics, supplier management, container management, JIT/JIS).
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics or related fields. Master’s degree is a plus. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience in automotive logistics supplier management focused on JIS processes desirable.
- Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems as well as process design.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel.
