Aiken, SC or Novi, MI (Power Systems business, North America)
This strategic buyer is responsible for procurement of indirect materials and services for certain commodities across all business sectors in the Americas. The role collaborates with multiple site facility leaders and operates within the global procedures for Strategic Purchasing.
Responsibilities- Process purchasing award summaries and related documents for suppliers of maintenance, repair and operational goods and services within RRPS global compliance policies.
- Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance.
- Resolve pricing, invoicing, and contract‑related issues aggressively with suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers, especially for goods and services used at RRSA operational and remote facilities.
- Analyze supplier cost and pricing information, benchmark against competition.
- Manage purchase requisition and vendor invoice management queues.
- Maintain open communication among internal departments, management and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, materials management, finance, or packaging engineering, with at least 3 years of procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management experience; OR at least 7 years of experience in these fields.
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive matters with discretion.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
- Financial/cost analysis skills and problem‑solving ability for complex issues.
- Broad experience across multiple disciplines and cultures.
- Appreciation of product integrity.
- Proven track record delivering improved operational performance in both favorable and unfavorable conditions, utilizing cross‑functional teams.
