Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually
About the Role
We are seeking a Buyer to manage material procurement, maintain inventory flow, and support production demand in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. This role is well suited for someone who takes initiative, builds productive supplier relationships, and stays responsive as priorities shift across purchasing, inventory, and cross-functional projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of raw materials and third-party items to support production schedules and customer demand
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate MRP parameters within Syspro to support material availability
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply terms with current and prospective suppliers
- Research new suppliers, materials, and equipment to support sourcing, cost savings, and operational improvement
- Resolve purchase order, goods receipt, and invoicing discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and accounting
- Support internal operations and cross-departmental projects related to product development, continuous improvement, and cost reduction
- Maintain supplier scorecards, purchasing reports, and performance metrics
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while expediting materials as needed to meet deadlines
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to make sound purchasing decisions and move work forward with appropriate independence
- Strong communication skills for supplier interaction and cross-functional coordination
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements and firm deadlines
- Working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing processes, and product costing in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to maintain accurate records, follow purchasing protocols, and support compliance-related requirements
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as Syspro and Microsoft Office 365;
Power BI experience preferred
Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in purchasing and/or inventory management within a manufacturing environment
- Travel to suppliers and manufacturing plants may be required
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, sit for extended periods, and lift items up to 15 pounds
