Position Overview

Position is responsible for custodial and general maintenance duties at the Army Aviation Support Facility #2 and FMS at Donaldson Center. Performs routine custodial work, assisting in maintenance of building systems. Supervises part‑time and contract custodial staff as required. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, refills dispensers, washes walls, toilets, urinals, mirrors, countertops and cabinets following established practices and procedures. Assists general maintenance tech supervisor in routine maintenance of building systems, including replacing lamps and lighting, minor plumbing repairs, and repairing stoppages in drain systems and leaks in supply and waste systems.

Assists with minor repairs and adjustments to doors, door hardware, closers and exit/egress devices. Operates buffer safely and ensures proper procedure for disposal of chemicals used. Maintains knowledge of techniques, equipment and procedures for maintenance of floors.

• A high school diploma and custodial or grounds keeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s license.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders, stairs and scaffolding.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous and noisy locations; and in adverse weather conditions.
