Job Summary

Position: Painter

Location: Columbia, SC

Salary: $19.84 per hour

Schedule: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday (full‑time, 40 hours per week). Will be required to work a flexible schedule as needed.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet departmental needs.
Job Duties

Assist supervisor with selection, preparation and application of paint and other decorative finishes to various types of surfaces in the residence halls, including plaster, wood, sheet‑rock, metal, etc. Perform surface preparation tasks such as stripping, sanding, and repairing prior to application.

This position is essential personnel during inclement or hazardous weather and other emergencies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply decorative coating to multiple surfaces following procedures.
  • Follow work management procedures.
  • Prepare and apply patching, plaster, caulking and other compounds as needed.
Potential for Full‑Time Employment

Position may become a full‑time employee based on job performance.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
