Keowee Key, a premier lakefront community in the Carolina Foothills, is seeking an experienced and professional Golf Course Superintendent to join our growing Golf Course Maintenance team.
OverviewThe Golf Course at Keowee Key underwent a full renovation in 2018 to include new reshaping of fairways, new tees, new irrigation, and complete re‑grassing. The Golf Course Superintendent will be accountable for daily playability, health, and conditioning of all golf playing surfaces, practice areas, and surrounding landscapes. This is a hands‑on, tech‑enabled leadership position that utilizes advanced agronomic principles, digital turf‑monitoring technology, and data‑driven management practices to provide consistently outstanding experiences for members and guests.

Assistant Superintendent, Equipment Technicians, Seasonal/Full‑Time Team Members
- Maintain greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers using best‑in‑class USGA and GCSAA protocols.
- Integrate programs for precision irrigation, fertility, and disease management into daily operations.
- Oversee regular aerification, topdressing, and IPM (Integrated Pest Management) programs.
- Use the USGA Deacon platform for performance analysis and decision making.
- Utilize and maintain 2‑wire Toro Lynx irrigation system and Turf Guard Sensors.
- Identify emerging technologies within the golf industry to optimize departmental performance.
- Lead, train, and schedule a diverse team of 10‑12 employees.
- Foster a culture of safety, learning, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Implement environmentally responsible management practices.
- Monitor and uphold compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for chemical and fertilizer applications.
- Communicate effectively with members, Golf Pros, and leadership to set and manage course expectations.
- Engage in course tours, meetings, and digital updates to keep Membership informed.
- Operate within departmental budgets; track spending, prepare reports, and optimize resource allocation.
- Degree in Turfgrass Science, Agronomy, or related fields.
- Four or more years’ experience in golf course management (Superintendent/Assistant).
- Advanced experience with warm season grasses, particularly Zoysiagrass.
- Certified Pesticide Applicator.
- Demonstrated proficiency in course management and irrigation systems.
- GCSAA membership highly desirable.
