Supply Manager II - Facilities Manager YC

Under general supervision of the Deputy Director, manages the functions and activities of a large, diverse supply and service operation. Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures. Serves as a vendor and customer liaison for the agency in supply and service matters.

Maintains proper inventory of equipment and materials. Receives supplies and equipment from deliveries, performs quality and quantity checks on new supplies, and completes supply requisitions and issues supplies. Develops and executes health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines. Prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

Conducts four-cycle Quality Checks on state-assigned equipment. Receives, stores, tags, and tracks surplus property, and prepares documents for unserviceable or damaged items. Assists with periodic and annual inventories. Issues cadets clothing and materials for each cycle, to include all dormitory essential needs and supplies. Conducts direct exchange for cadets throughout the cycle when initial issue is worn out or unserviceable.

Assists the DFAC supervisor with requisitioning of supplies for the dining facility. Responsible for general upkeep and cleaning of the supply room and restocking shelves. Evaluates practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law. Conducts training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention. Monitors compliance to policies and laws.

Inspects equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions. Assists with the investigation of accidents or incidents to discover causes as needed. Recommends solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures. Reports on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics. Attends necessary and required meetings. Produces reports and develops relevant policies. Performs inspections on a monthly basis and other job duties as assigned by the Deputy Director and/or Director.

A high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience in safety management and supply, plus 2 years of supervisory experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience working in safety management and supply.
