The SCDMV helps maximize value through vendor relationships and ensures our internal and external business partners have the tools they need to succeed.

This position is in the Drivers Services, CDL Help Desk Unit, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.

Responsibilities of the Office Supervisor III
  • Supervises all functions of the assigned work unit and processes transactions as needed.
  • Interprets Federal and State laws, along with DMV policies and procedures, for staff.
  • Completes Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) reviews for all team members by the required deadlines.
  • Resolves issues within the unit and facilitates solutions between units when conflicts arise.
  • Provides expert guidance on technical and complex questions for DMV personnel.
  • Oversees the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and training of new employees; evaluates performance; recommends promotions and disciplinary actions; manages leave requests; and ensures adequate staffing coverage.
  • Proactively communicates significant improvements, issues, and concerns to the unit manager.
  • Identifies and recommends service delivery enhancements through continuous communication and idea sharing.
  • Engages with internal and external customers, addressing and resolving complaints escalated to the supervisor level.
  • Encourages employee feedback for continuous improvement and responds to staff concerns.
  • Ensures all required reports are accurately generated and maintained.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Agency Requirements
  • Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and review the work of subordinates.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex policies and procedures to customers and employees.
  • Ability to write clear, concise instructions and reports.
  • Responsible for supervising small work unit.
  • May be required to work extended hours outside the normal scheduled work week.
  • Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. May require limited travel.
Agency Preferred
  • A high school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience. An equivalent education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval.
