Postal Director (#013513) Turbeville Correctional Institution, Clarendon (Turbeville) Lvl 2

• Coordinates all activities between the us post office and the institution.
• Delivers and picks up all mail.
• Receives U.S. post office and united parcel service packages.
• Supervises inspection of all mail for contraband.
• Maintains and interprets SCDC policies and U.S. postal regulations concerning mail in an institutional environment.
• Maintains records of money instruments received and/or returned.
• Coordinates activities of E.H. Cooper trust fund.
• Research records for the location of inmates in an effort to handle the mail properly.
• Supervises the receiving and distributing of U.S. and department mail.
• Supervises the activities of both incoming and outgoing mail and insures packages.
• Plans and schedules work assignments and employee training.
• Must become notary within three (3) months of accepting position.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.

• A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations with one (1) year of supervisory experience

OR

• An associate degree or higher with one (1) year of supervisory experience may be substituted for the required work experience.
