- Coordinates all activities between the us post office and the institution.
- Delivers and picks up all mail.
- Receives U.S. post office and united parcel service packages.
- Supervises inspection of all mail for contraband.
- Maintains and interprets SCDC policies and U.S. postal regulations concerning mail in an institutional environment.
- Maintains records of money instruments received and/or returned.
- Coordinates activities of E.H. Cooper trust fund.
- Research records for the location of inmates in an effort to handle the mail properly.
- Supervises the receiving and distributing of U.S. and department mail.
- Supervises the activities of both incoming and outgoing mail and insures packages.
- Plans and schedules work assignments and employee training.
- Must become notary within three (3) months of accepting position.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
SCDCMinimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations with one (1) year of supervisory experience
OR
An associate degree or higher with one (1) year of supervisory experience may be substituted for the required work experience.
