Project Manager - Food Service

SummaryManage the project in a cost-effective manner by establishing and applying sound management policies pertaining to the organization, customer relations, planning, cost control, and workflow. Responsible for recruitment, training, management, and supervision of all personnel assigned at the contract site. Responsible for ensuring that work is performed to specifications of the contract. Responsible for maintaining equipment and supplies. Maintains reports and records as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for the overall management of contractor functions and the Statement of Work
- Manage the project in a cost efficient and effective manner
- Supervise and train assigned individuals in all phases of Food Service operations
- Schedule all personnel and work to ensure contract requirements are met
- Ensure the project maintains quality standards
- Responsible for equipment and supplies (proper usage, maintenance, storage and replacement)
- Maintain and generate necessary records required by the contract as well as those required by Goodwill
- Represent Goodwill in meetings with Government personnel
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Responsible for performance of safety drills and keeping the work site within OSHA and Food Service Standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervises all assigned personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.
QualificationsTo perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Five plus years prior supervisory experience in food service or related supervisory positions. Ability to supervise individuals with disabilities. Ability to recognize and report items of poor or unacceptable quality. Ability to operate manual and mechanized equipment. Ability to function in a military setting. Ability to work with limited supervision.
The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level required in the contract and upon receiving clearance eligibility must begin work within 30 days. Within 90 days of employment must be able to obtain Serv Safe certification.
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience of five plus year's food service operations or related supervisory experience. Experience in working with disabled individuals preferred. Experience in a military installation.
Physical Demands- Ability to lift and maneuver 40-pound cartons.
- Ability to operate food service equipment and custodial equipment.
- Full range of motion.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, reach above shoulders.
- Ability to maintain continuous walking, standing, bending or stooping for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both oral and written form.
- Sight required to visually check food service operations.
- Ability to work in a warm and cold environment.
- Ability to hear and respond to internal paging system and warning devices.
