Description

Production Shift Supervisor Job Purpose: The production shift supervisor manages shift employees within a manufacturing department. Responsibilities include planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Requirements

Production Shift Supervisor Job Duties:

• Manage activities on the production floor under the direction of the business unit manager, following established procedures and approved processes.
• Supervise departmental production operations and strictly adhere to process parameters specified by process engineers.
• Organize the team to meet production targets according to the schedule.
• Ensure products meet quality standards.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate shift activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver products timely.
• Monitor production equipment condition and coordinate repairs with maintenance technicians.
• Ensure completion of operators’ equipment maintenance tasks as specified by maintenance.
• Complete and submit daily reports on Safety, Quality, and production metrics.
• Collaborate with HR and the production manager to train, monitor, develop, and discipline team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized production floor.
• Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the company.

• Associate Degree required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 5-7 years of manufacturing experience required
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Work may occur under temperature extremes, elevated platforms, and hazardous conditions.
• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration is frequent.
• Work environment can be loud.
