Position SummaryBridge Brothers is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to apply protective coatings and finishes to structural steel bridge components .
This hands-on role is responsible for surface preparation, mixing and applying industrial coatings, and ensuring all finishes meet project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial or heavy-equipment painting, a strong attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare structural steel surfaces for coating, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface prep
Mix and apply industrial coatings such as epoxy, zinc, and other high-performance systems
Apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment (including airless spray guns)
Inspect finished work to ensure proper coverage, adhesion, and film thickness
Work closely with Quality Control to ensure coatings meet specification requirements
Maintain, clean, and store painting and spray equipment
Follow coating manufacturer guidelines, safety data sheets (SDS), and project specifications
Safely handle paints, solvents, and chemicals in compliance with safety policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Cross-train and assist other shop departments as needed
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred
2+ years of experience in industrial painting or protective coatings preferred
Experience with epoxy, zinc-rich, or other industrial coating systems
Familiarity with spray painting equipment and application techniques
Ability to follow drawings, instructions, and coating specifications
Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Willingness to cross-train and work in a team-based fabrication environment
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentFast-paced fabrication and coatings environment
Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Exposure to paint fumes, dust, and industrial equipment
PPE required and provided
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. EST (occasional weekends as needed)
Overtime:
Available as required
