Provide technical guidance of daily plant production processes and serve as the technical expert to the production team. This individual will support maintaining transparent, easily understandable, and easily maintainable metrics for safety, housekeeping, quality and productivity. The role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in these areas. The incumbent will need to be able to readily identify opportunities, prioritize, and take action to improve asset utilization and production efficiency.
The role will also provide technical support for production related projects as well as lead other applicable projects as needed. They need to be able to work closely with process engineers and technicians and the maintenance team to implement improvements. The incumbent will provide production technical expertise for all production related reviews. They will also serve as the point of contact and owner of product scale ups and changes.
** Your tasks and responsibilities…
*** Provides technical guidance of daily plant production processes and serve as a technical expert to the production team
* Actively engages with operators and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, production activities
* Identifies production related safety, quality, and process improvement opportunities, prioritizing, as needed and implementing effective long term corrective actions.
* Serve as the primary champion of the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) program by analyzing performance data, collaborating closely with operators, Technical, and R&D teams, and driving continuous improvements
* Provides troubleshooting support for production related issues and alarms working directly with the production team to identify the causes and implement effective solutions.
* Participates in the Management of Change or (MOC) program which includes, but is not limited to, change approvals, change implementation, hazard evaluation, document updates, and training
* Develops and maintains production related procedures, training materials, and documentation to support the Process Safety Management program.
* Lead investigations utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques for production/process events, quality issues, customer complaints, and safety (SHE) events
* Owns and manages production-related projects, delivering projects on time and on budget
* Play a supporting role for all new product development or product changes.
* Play a supporting or back-up role for troubleshooting production events related to the DCS or other control systems.

* Required Qualifications:
*** Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or related field
* Prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
* Advanced problem solving and facilitation skills – ability to critically think and execute deliverables
* Proven ability to initiate and drive change
* Ability to read engineering drawings
* Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
* Willingness to adjust work schedule to support production needs
* Function effectively in a team environment
*
* Preferred Qualifications:
*** Instrumentation and PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) experience
* Experience working with DCS systems
* Experience working PSM covered facility
* Working knowledge of SAP or similar MRP system
* Knowledge or experience working with Lean/Six sigma practices
* Functional knowledge of auto CAD software
* Previous experience in emulsion polymerization
** WORKING REQUIREMENTS:
*** Monday through Friday, weekends as needed.
* Ability to adjust work schedule to support production needs
