The Produce Receiving Supervisor I is responsible for performing weekly safety/quality/food safety and GMP audits. Will ensure all equipment is operational and runs properly. The supervisor will support the receiving, verifying, and storing of all produce in the designated area while leading the team safely and efficiently.

Must have 5+ years of Forklift operating experience and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.

The Produce Receiving Supervisor I will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment in his or her area. The supervisor will be required to maintain a daily log of safety incidents, safety violations, and safety hazards. The supervisor must report all safety hazards to the manager or production manager. The supervisor will be responsible for performing a safety audit once per week in another area of the plant as well as daily safety audits in his or her assigned area.

Ensures Food Safety practices are followed and maintained.

• The Receiving Produce Supervisor I will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements in the porch area.
  • Continuous improvement projects may be defined as reduced waste, reduced staffing, utility reductions, maintenance PM systems etc.
  • The Receiving Produce Supervisor I will be required to develop an annual productivity improvement plan; the plan will be submitted to the plant manager for approval.
• Ensure all additional staff in porch area is accounted for and assigned daily task.
• Fill in when necessary to operate equipment in unloading area including forklift.
• Act as a backup as needed to complete daily staffing report that must be submitted to department clerk.
• Maintain conditions in the area known as the dock.
  • Must keep area cleaned daily and free of debris/overflowing trash containers
  • Monitor the fill lines on trash totes to prevent overloading.
  • Must communicate with plant management or designated with any needs.
• Responsible for ensuring all production standards and goals are being maintained and documented. Including the review of incoming produce list prior to inspecting the quality and quantity.
  • Generate labels for product with correct information prior to unloading into the designated area.
• Maintain daily downtime records of all equipment in the porch. Meet with maintenance and production management to discuss downtime.
• Maintain daily inventory of all incoming produce and submit report to Production manager.
• Other duties may be assigned to better support the Production department.

• Preforms safety talk prior to each shift to promote a motivated and efficient team environment.
• Act as the designated trainer for the team by partnering with plant management to develop training plan for all shifts.
• Training plan must include plant safety, job specifics, GMP, and food safety/GFSI.
• Assist with developing process improvements in the porch/unloading area.
  • Including waste reduction & staffing adjustments
  • Assist with developing an annual productivity improvement plan and submit it before plant management for approval.
