Manufacturing Production Manager

Job Description

Responsible for the timely output of good products from the manufacturing operation. Supports the strategic plan by performing activities to successfully execute the production process safely, timely and productfully.

Reports to:

Plant Manager.

Relates closely with:
Sales (Customers), Quality, Materials Management (Vendors), Engineering, Maintenance, R&D & Management.

• Manages the employees and manufacturing work centers from raw material through finished product to the customer.
• Oversees execution of production processes, employee training (Safety, Quality, Job & Skills), scheduling and other tasks to meet production demands.
• Supports process changes designed to improve safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency throughout the manufacturing area.
• Performs analysis and executes Lean MFG, projects, & continuous improvement.
• Responds timely to problems maintaining and support production.
• Involved in EHS.
• Plans over a 3-6-12 month time span with ability to organise and manage multiple priorities.
• Lead and mentor Manufacturing Team and conduct LEAN projects.

Goals:
Improve Productivity, Yield, Profit, Inventory, Deliverables and continuously optimise Manufacturing.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 5-10 years manufacturing management experience in technical job shop environment.
• Experience with MRP systems or database in manufacturing and MS Office.
• Continuous Improvement experience & statistical analysis skills with root cause analysis skills.
• Team player who works well and enthusiastically with others.
• Leadership capability with proven results and strong organisational capability. Lean project management.
• Has run LEAN projects.

Time requirements are roughly 40-50 hours per week. Nights and weekends on occasion.
