Position: Fitter I
Location: Ridgeville

Fitter I

Entry-level fitter responsible for assembling and positioning structural steel components under direct supervision.

Essential Duties
  • Read basic prints and assembly drawings.
  • Measure, mark, and position materials.
  • Use hand tools, grinders, and measuring devices.
  • Assist with fitting, alignment, and tack welding operations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • Basic blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments.
  • Basic math skills.
Experience
  • 0–2 years of fitting or fabrication experience.
Hours
  • Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm
  • Overtime may be required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic fabrication, welding, or trade school training is a plus.
  • 0–2 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, construction, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Entry-level candidates with relevant training may be considered.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools accurately.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to identify common structural steel shapes and materials.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in fitting and assembling structural steel components.
  • Lay out, position, and align parts according to drawings and instructions.
  • Prepare materials for welding and fabrication.
  • Operate basic shop equipment safely.
  • Verify measurements and dimensions before assembly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (or as required by the employer).
  • Ability to work in a fabrication shop or industrial environment.
