Position OverviewComposite Bonder Level 2 in the Aeronautics Systems sector, responsible for bonding dissimilar materials—including composites, metal, and laminate—to assemble structures, components, and equipment.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Lay out articles, cut parts or materials to size, and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
- Understand ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
- Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
- Control heat, pressure, and timing conditions by operating controls according to material and bonding agent specifications.
- Sand, burr, and smooth over areas; apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
- Monitor and verify the quality of finished products.
- Perform repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products following inspection and rework instructions.
- Verify quality of repaired products.
- High School diploma or GED with 2 years of related composite fabrication or bonding experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access.
- Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces.
- Capacity to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.
- Successful completion and passing of the ASTAR New‑Hire Training/Compliance program within a reasonable time period.
- Successful passing of a New‑Hire Physical Exam, MDA Screening, and maintenance of a respirator clearance with full compliance to respirator fitting requirements.
- Experience with hydraulic parts, aircraft fabrication, assemblies, components, and systems in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, and/or maintenance environments.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years and the ability to obtain program access.
- Experience with structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
- Primary level salary range: $51,400.00 – $85,600.00.
- Potential eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

- Company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
