Position

GEA Group, located in York, PA, is seeking a Workshop Team Lead to join our Production Team. The incumbent leads production personnel, plans and assigns work, monitors company policies, safety standards and housekeeping practices. He/she monitors employee performance and, as directed, implements job-related training. Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly practices is required to help monitor product quality. This role leads the 2nd Shift (Monday – Thursday, 3:30pm – 2:30am).

Responsibilities
  • Leads adherence to Employee Health and Safety policies.
  • Directs all production personnel to ensure a quality product is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coaches and provides expertise to resolve issues and ensures corrective action is implemented.
  • Monitors daily tasks of production employees and delegates daily work assignments.
  • Improves proficiencies in standard assembly and weld practices to meet or exceed efficiencies, schedules, and quality.
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Monitors employee performance and development.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
  • Supports continuous improvement and 6S standards; implements job-related training as directed by management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Vocational qualifications preferred; has vocational management certificate or 3+ years of related Workshop Leadership experience.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly practices (REQUIRED).
  • Lean training/certification preferred.
  • Ability to train and develop others; strong math, safety, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required to support customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs; sit, stand, reach, and walk on concrete for periods of time.
Compensation and Schedule

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is between $40.00 - $43.85 per hour, plus $3.00 shift differential for 2nd shift. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position.

Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
