Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance
Job Purpose
Ensure safe and efficient operation of all equipment, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, execute production equipment changeovers, troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical problems, maintain proper maintenance records, inventory parts, and handle emergency repairs, promote good housekeeping habits, coordinate equipment training, and communicate ideas and problems to management.
SafetyFollow all employer safety and health regulations, maintain the company’s safety culture, observe Lock Out/Block Out/Tag Out policy, wear required PPE, proactively address unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participate in scheduled safety training.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment to meet OEE and customer quality expectations.
- Address inefficiencies of production equipment proactively.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment, including basic hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and process problems.
- Use power tools safely to avoid injury.
- Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks per Maintenance Manager.
- Review production reports before maintenance to resolve all causes of inefficiencies.
- Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement opportunities.
- Tag components or parts needing repair, replacement, or improvement.
- Execute scheduled production equipment mold changeovers per Maintenance or Production Manager.
- Perform building maintenance as directed.
- Maintain records for the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (EAM), including work orders and parts management.
- Coordinate production equipment training and employee development with managers.
- Actively develop professionally through regular meetings, additional training, and pursuing higher education opportunities.
- Participate in plant teams and activities such as safety, quality, sustainability, OEE, maintenance, wellness, and continuous improvement to maintain a World Class environment.
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift per OSHA regulations.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Report quality, food safety, GMP, and food defense issues to Maintenance Manager or management. Perform required sanitation activities before releasing equipment to production and ensure equipment is in ‘showroom condition’ after maintenance.
Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2–3 years of preventative maintenance experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical certifications and training applicable to servicing industrial equipment.
- Sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self‑motivation, and a focus on improving business operations.
