As the Production Supervisor - Rigging & Mechanical Assembly, you will lead the daily operations of our Rigging department, supervising a team responsible for assembling, moving, and preparing large-scale mechanical systems used in our modular data center solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring the ability to read and interpret blueprints, support mechanical assembly and rigging activities, and drive safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Partnering closely with Engineering, Planning, Materials, and Quality, you'll help resolve production challenges, improve processes, and develop a high-performing team.
The Production Supervisor - Rigging & Mechanical Assembly in Pelzer SC, is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Rigging department, ensuring the safe and efficient assembly, movement, and preparation of mechanical components for final production.
This role provides technical leadership to a team of Mechanical Fitters and Assembly Technicians, supporting blueprint interpretation, assembly processes, material handling, and safe rigging practices while driving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. The supervisor partners closely with Engineering, Planning, Materials, and Quality to resolve production issues, improve processes, and meet customer commitments.

- Responsibilities
• Supervise the daily activities of Mechanical Fitters and Rigging personnel to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and work orders to ensure products are built to specification.
• Provide technical guidance and support during mechanical assembly, rigging, and installation activities.
• Coordinate the safe movement and positioning of large components using overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, slings, and other approved rigging equipment.
• Ensure employees properly use hand tools, torque equipment, lifting devices, and material handling equipment while following established safety procedures.
• Monitor daily production schedules and labor utilization to ensure customer delivery commitments are achieved.
• Track and improve key performance indicators including productivity, quality, first-pass yield, schedule attainment, and safety.
• Partner with Engineering, Planning, Materials, and Quality to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while conducting performance reviews, attendance management, and corrective action as needed.
• Promote Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

- Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 + years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading teams performing overhead cranes, mechanical assembly, fabrication, industrial equipment assembly, or similar manufacturing operations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, and assembly documentation.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs including safety, quality, productivity, schedule attainment, and labor efficiency.
• Experience coaching employees, managing performance, and building high-performing teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• Experience supervising rigging, mechanical fitting, heavy equipment assembly, or industrial manufacturing teams.
• Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience supporting modular construction, industrial equipment, HVAC, electrical enclosures, or similar products.
