Location: Lyman

Boiler Tube Company of America is currently seeking a skilled Welder to join our team of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality boiler pressure part replacements efficiently and reliably. Our company boasts over a century of expertise in the boiler manufacturing sector, operating out of our ASME-certified facilities in Lyman and Wellford, South Carolina. The Welder will be instrumental in fabricating and repairing components such as water walls, superheaters, reheaters, headers, and economizers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding operations on various boiler components following ASME codes and company quality standards
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to execute precise and accurate welds
  • Maintain welding equipment and prepare materials for welding operations
  • Inspect welds visually and with appropriate testing methods to ensure structural integrity
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines to promote a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with fabrication team members to meet production schedules
  • Identify and address welding defects and implement corrective measures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; accredited welding certification preferred
  • At least 2 years of welding experience in industrial or manufacturing settings, preferably with boiler components
  • Proficient in multiple welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick welding, and flux-cored arc welding
  • Knowledge of ASME Codes Section I and IX and other relevant welding standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions and environments
