AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is needed for a manufacturing facility specializing in structural racking systems. This role involves continuous inspection and documentation of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards and company quality requirements.

The position requires hands‑on oversight of processes including cutting, punching, shearing, stamping, notching, welding, and painting. Welding operations utilize a GMAW Spray Transfer process.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily floor and weld inspections, including part fit‑up, visual inspection, and review of WPSs & PQRs.
  • Ensure compliance with welding credentials, documentation, and AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain Welder Qualification Records (WQRs), PQRs, WPSs, and inspection records.
  • Monitor welder qualifications and maintain controlled processes, procedures, and specifications.
  • Verify welding equipment functionality and documentation on a daily basis.
  • Interpret fabrication drawings and apply them to inspection activities.
  • Support and maintain the established Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Travel occasionally by car or plane as required.
Qualifications
  • AWS CWI or AWI certification (required).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
  • Background in manufacturing and welding processes preferred.
  • Strong documentation, inspection, and quality assurance skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required; post‑secondary preferred).
  • Strong penmanship, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Clean driving record; willingness to sign waiver and maintain a personal credit card for expenses.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Shift schedule:
First Shift 6:00 AM‑4:30 PM (Mon‑Thu);
Second Shift 4:30 PM‑3:00 AM (Mon‑Thu).
