About Crisp

Founded in 2017 in Columbia, SC, Crisp is a trusted partner in crafting unforgettable events through premium services and high-quality rentals. Specializing in weddings, we collaborate with event planners and industry partners to elevate celebrations with elegance and precision. Our dedicated team combines industry expertise with a passion for detail, ensuring every delivery, setup, and interaction reflects the professionalism and care our clients rely on.

At Crisp, we don't just provide equipment — we deliver peace of mind.

About the Role

Crisp is seeking an Industrial Painter with an exceptional eye for detail, pride in craftsmanship, and the versatility to support both fabrication and maintenance operations. This is a role for a skilled, hands-on professional who understands that a quality finish starts long before the first coat. You'll prepare, coat, and finish fabricated components, equipment, trailers, and event assets — and help maintain the appearance, durability, and longevity of the inventory our events depend on.

Painting is your primary craft, but this is not a paint-only job. On any given week you'll also build and repair pieces, run a nail gun, fabricate, and turn a wrench — a true shop utility player inside our Customs division alongside our carpenters, welders, and fabricators. You're comfortable in a controlled shop one day and on an outdoor job site the next.

You take ownership of your work, hold a high standard, and thrive when priorities shift and deadlines get tight. When something breaks or an unexpected challenge comes up, you're the one who finds the fix and delivers.

Surface Prep, Coating & Finishing
  • Prepare metal, wood, fiberglass, and other surfaces by sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, and priming.
  • Apply industrial coatings, primers, paints, and protective finishes using airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment, rollers, and brushes.
  • Mix paints and coatings to manufacturer specifications for the right color, consistency, and finish.
  • Perform touch-up painting, refinishing, and cosmetic repairs on fabricated products, trailers, equipment, and event assets.
  • Inspect completed work for coverage, adhesion, and finish quality against Crisp's standard.
Carpentry, Fabrication & Repairs
  • Build, assemble, and repair custom pieces and event assets using carpentry and hand and power tools, including nail guns and saws.
  • Support fabrication and welding work — cutting, fitting, mounting, and assembly — to get pieces build-ready and finish-ready.
  • Handle general repairs and upkeep on trailers, equipment, and inventory; turn a wrench as the job calls for it.
  • Work from plans, sketches, and verbal direction to bring custom builds to life.
  • Pitch in across the Customs shop (carpentry, paint, welding/fabrication) as production needs shift.
Equipment Care & Shop Upkeep
  • Maintain the paint booth, spray equipment, and painting tools in safe, clean, working condition.
  • Operate all tools and equipment correctly and carefully — keep them running and avoid preventable breakage.
  • Perform routine cleaning, changeovers, and basic upkeep so equipment stays event-ready.
  • Track paint, media, and consumable inventory and flag repairs or reorders before they slow production.
  • Keep a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
Collaboration & Production
  • Work closely with fabricators, welders, maintenance techs, designers, and project managers to meet production schedules.
  • Sequence your work so paint and finish land when the build and install need them.
  • Communicate status, timelines, and any issue that affects the finished product.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures for PPE, respirators, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of paints, solvents, and coatings per manufacturer and regulatory guidance.
  • Keep the shop and job sites safe for yourself, the team, and our assets.
Service-Industry Reality
  • Events don't run on bankers' hours — expect occasional nights, weekend work, and off-hours pushes during peak event season.
  • Busiest months are April, May, October, and the four-week stretch from the week after Thanksgiving through Christmas. Slower months (July, August,…
