As a Production Supervisor, A Shift (Sunday-Wednesday, 8 PM-6:30 AM) at Itron, this individual will lead and direct the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, including safety, quality, and cost. The individual will also prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply as well as be responsible for planning and administering procedures and budgets.

Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Implements strong problem-solving skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety for all employees.
  • Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals
  • Evaluating various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency
  • Discipline and document employee's performance issues.
  • Approve vacation requests that maintain business while providing opportunities to employees.
  • Manage headcount and termination records to ensure the team is correctly staffed.
  • Strong leader able to coach, mentor and assist with training teams.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, monitor work in process and rework levels.
  • Assist with new product introduction.
  • Audit work procedures and ISO procedures.
  • Monitor process indicators.
  • Monitor progress of team metrics.
  • Conduct and coach problem solving.
  • Manage and maintain visual management tools and performance reporting.
  • Maintaining communication between employees and senior executives to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood.
  • Ensuring the flow of raw materials and other resources.

Required

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Basic skills with MS Office and Word.

Preferred

Skills & Experience:

  • Overseeing all activities related to Lean implementation, training and coaching lean principals, and identification and elimination of waste.

Travel: 0-10%
