Primary

Function

Operator will initiate operations in accordance with customer requirements and monitor performance to optimize production processes

Responsibilities
  • Gather materials as needed to maintain production
  • Perform complex, critical set up process, operation and adjustment of equipment to produce product within specifications
  • Perform visual quality checks using tools and gauges as necessary to examine product for defects (cuts, folds, seals, and perforations) to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
  • Accurately and efficiently perform steps necessary to conduct changeovers
  • Remove parts from machine after cycle is complete
  • Utilize computer monitors to operate the equipment
  • Fill out paperwork related to production activity
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to production lead or supervisor.
  • Train other operators as needed or requested
  • Wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and any additional PPE required for task being performed)
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition
  • Cross train, permitting movement throughout and between departments
  • Perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by lead/supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow standard work and work instructions
  • Ability to receive on-the-job training
  • Ability to read simple blueprints
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail
  • Must have knowledge and skill to operate all required machines.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, stand, walk, push, pull, crouch or reach within hands- and arms –length on a regular and/or repetitive basis
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Must not be on predischarge for attendance or have a written performance write up for any reason

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
