Your rolePosition Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing and facility equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations within the Pet Food business. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance, assists with equipment installations and modifications, and ensures compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Equipment Reliability- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Monitor equipment for proper operation and analyze, evaluate, and solve equipment-related problems.
- Make necessary adjustments and repairs to maintain equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Assist with the repair, construction, installation, and modification of equipment and plant systems.
- Identify equipment deficiencies, parts shortages, or plant failures and promptly communicate issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Production Supervisor when production may be impacted.
- Complete maintenance work orders and documentation accurately and on time.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Follow all maintenance instructions, standard operating procedures, and company policies.
- Work safely and comply with all workplace safety requirements.
- Properly wear, maintain, and care for all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Support and maintain compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Ensure food safety risks are identified and addressed during maintenance activities.
- Assist in maintaining equipment in a condition that supports safe food production.
- Participate in required food safety and quality training programs.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required and trained.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- General mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems, including motors, starters, switches, and related equipment.
- Ability to analyze equipment performance and diagnose operational issues.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
