Right Away – Pay Rate: $25.75 per hour
Weekends:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6 am – 6 pm or 6 pm – 6 am
- Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
- Work safely in accordance with plant safety guidelines, including cardinal rules of safety.
- Adhere to quality processes, including in‑process inspections to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Meet all Level I machinist requirements.
- Perform machining operations for 4 to 6 different parts.
- Collaborate in a high‑performance team setting to achieve common goals.
- Maintain responsibility for part quality and use standard and customer measuring equipment for dimensional checks.
- Utilize more advanced quality measuring tools when required.
- Rework or repair out‑of‑tolerance specifications with minimal supervision.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance checks of oil levels and coolant concentration, and report machine abnormalities to the shift team leader or supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to 6S standards.
- Ensure continuity among work shifts through verbal or documented communication regarding required actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Communicate with manufacturing on first‑piece acceptance and stopping processes due to failing parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- US citizenship or permanent residency (due to government military contracts).
- High school diploma or GED; CNC operator/machinist diploma or certification preferred; a degree in Machine Tool Technology is a definite plus.
- 4 to 6 years of manufacturing experience operating CNC mills or lathes; prior military experience; or technical certification/degree.
- Basic English language skills and ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Professional communication and cooperative teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass customer‑required testing and machining specifications when required.
- Skill in following verbal or written directions and translating instructions into action.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a high‑volume deadline.
- Attention to detail.
- Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions) for print reading and tolerance determination.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 35 pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to 12 hours.
- Requires hand manipulation, including simple grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.
- Ability to reach and work above and below shoulder level.
- Ability to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Visual acuity skill to detect flaws in inspected parts.
