The Electrical Products (EP) Business Unit offers a full range of low-voltage power distribution and control products that deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This position will be based at our Roebuck, SC site.
As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, this role drives process optimization and operational excellence across fabrication and assembly operations, developing and sustaining manufacturing processes that support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
You’ll make an impact by:
Manufacturing Process Development & Optimization
- Develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes that support safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives while optimizing production layouts, material flow, workstation design, and manufacturing standards.
- Analyze operations through time studies, work measurement, line balancing, capacity analysis, and workflow assessments; support new product introductions, engineering changes, production ramp-ups, and throughput, quality, and labor efficiency improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Partnership
- Partner with Lean and Continuous Improvement teams to identify, prioritize, and implement operational improvements using Lean methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Standardized Work, Visual Management, 6S, Kanban, and Kaizen.
- Facilitate Lean events and drive waste elimination initiatives that improve productivity, reduce lead time and inventory, enhance quality, and sustain results through process ownership, training, documentation, and performance monitoring.
Manufacturing Engineering Leadership
- Lead manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation and sustainment, including process documentation, work instructions, standard work, PFMEAs, and manufacturing specifications.
- Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and validation while collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and Lean teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and provide production-floor technical support.
Problem Solving & Operational Excellence
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies, including A3, PDCA, 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, and Fishbone Analysis, to address safety, quality, delivery, and productivity issues through corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor key manufacturing performance indicators and drive sustainable improvements in OEE, throughput, First Pass Yield, operational efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on experience supporting engineered-to-order (ETO) and low-mix, high-runner manufacturing processes.
- Experience implementing ergonomic, safety, and/or productivity improvement projects.
- Proficiency creating work instructions, standard work documentation, and other manufacturing process documentation; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and CAD software used to create or modify manufacturing layouts, tooling, or process documentation.
