CNC Lathe Or Mill Operator

CNC Lathe or Mill Operator 1st Shift / Mon – Fri / 7:00am – 3:30pm $17 - $18 /per hr Pelzer, SC Area Pride Staff - Greenville is seeking a reliable, precise, and physically capable CNC Lathe or Mill Operator for a leading manufacturing facility for our customer in the Pelzer, SC area. In this technical manufacturing role, you will be responsible for the daily setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC machinery.

We are looking for a well-rounded operator who can read blueprints, select proper tooling, edit programs on the fly, and use fine measuring instruments to keep production parts running exactly to specification.

CNC Operator Primary

Responsibilities include:

  • Machine Operation:
    Efficiently set up and operate CNC Mills and/or CNC Lathes to process high-quality machined components.
  • Program Adjustments:
    Review and edit CNC programs as necessary to optimize cycles and maintain part dimensions.
  • Tooling Selection:
    Choose, install, and adjust the correct cutting tools based on material type and specific machining processes.
  • Quality Inspection:
    Use advanced precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, and height gages) to verify part dimensions with up to .0001" accuracy.
  • Blueprint Translation:
    Interpret technical blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure all parts are manufactured to exact tolerances.
  • Math Calculations:
    Perform regular shop math calculations to adjust offsets and ensure tool paths remain correct.

CNC Operator Requirements include:

  • Proven Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes is preferred.
  • Equipment Knowledge:
    Familiarity with cutting tools, industrial machining processes, and premium equipment brands like Haas, Mori Seiki, and Okuma is a major plus!
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong ability to read blueprints and comfortably utilize micrometers and calipers down to.0001" accuracy.
  • Bonus

    Qualifications:

    Prior CNC programming experience (Lathe or Mill) or backgrounds in fabrication (Punch Press, Press Brake, and Welding) are highly valued.
  • Physical Stamina:
    Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling the lifting/maneuvering requirements of a busy machine shop environment.
  • Success Traits:
    Looking for a detail-oriented team player with a strong work ethic and a history of exceptional attendance.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.00 - $18.00 Per Hour
