Job Description
If you are an experienced manufacturing leader looking for an opportunity to lead a skilled fabrication team and drive safety, quality, and operational performance, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Aiken, South Carolina, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the fabrication area, overseeing people, processes, equipment, and materials to ensure production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and motivate employees, optimize manufacturing processes, manage inventory and production requirements, and help drive continuous improvement across the department.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Manage Kan-Ban system and MRP requirements to meet department service level goals
- Oversee barstock inventory to include daily transactions and regular cycle counts.
- Conduct monthly department meetings and any regulatory training as required
- Responsible to manage employee performance to maintain department standards in efficiency, productivity and accountability.
- Provide recognition and constructive feedback through both formal and informal discussions
- Maintain accurate inventory of production tools, fixtures and process related supplies.
- Provide training and assistance to all assigned personnel.
- Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Associates Degree in Industrial Technology or related field and three (3) years' experience in a manufacturing environment or a High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years' experience in a fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Organizational skills and ability to work with all departments within the plant.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations in regard to employee performance and conduct.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Take initiative and make quality decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Experience with internal and/or external audits from regulatory agencies
- Must possess exceptional leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others.
- Act as a leader with utmost integrity, professionalism and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is desired
- Lean manufacturing experience is preferred
