Job DescriptionHITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Assembler who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Batesburg, SC.
The Assembler is responsible for preparing and assembling products and components within the production area, following specific instructions while conforming to the highest quality and standards.
Accountabilities- Retrieve parts and materials, potentially using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks
- Perform complex assembly tasks, including mechanical, electrical, and harness assemblies
- Assemble products and components according to diagrams, blueprints, or work orders
- Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order
- Utilize hand tools, portable powered tools, and potentially machinery to efficiently assemble products
- Perform routine maintenance to produce or process products
- Inspect assembled products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE critical requirements and great attention to detail
- Maintain inventory records using scanning and tracking systems
- Ensure accurate assembly and proper fitting of components
- Effectively collaborate with team members to complete tasks
- Identify and troubleshoot during the assembly process
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Adhere to safety and quality guidelines and company policies
- Obtain Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g. forklift, pallet jack, etc.) Certificate
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
- Understand measurements and follow instructions
- Work in an environment that requires physical and continual movement
- Learn new processes, procedures, and technologies
- Lift or lower items weighing < 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts < 42lbs (19kg)
- 3+ years of Associate or equivalent Assembling experience
- Knowledge of electrical terminations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP Software
