Location: Columbia
Express Employment Professionals is seeking experienced Machinist I candidates to support CNC machining operations for a leading manufacturing facility in Lexington, SC. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC and conventional machining equipment while ensuring high-quality production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay Rate: $25
Shift: 1st Shift | Overtime as Required
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and conventional machining equipment
- Complete machine setup including fixturing, work offsets, tool building, and tool setting
- Load, interpret, and troubleshoot M & G codes and CNC programs
- Proof programs and make machine adjustments as needed during production
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and written instructions
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and other measuring equipment
- Identify tooling, inserts, and adjustments needed for production changeovers
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to ensure part quality and productivity
- Record productivity data and complete first article inspections
- Work collaboratively with engineering, supervisors, and production teams to resolve floor-level issues
- Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3 years of machining experience preferred
- Associate degree in a related field may substitute for experience
- Experience in precision manufacturing environments preferred
- Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC mills or lathes
- Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection equipment
- PPE and safety equipment required
