Position: Machinist I
Location: Columbia

Express Employment Professionals is seeking experienced Machinist I candidates to support CNC machining operations for a leading manufacturing facility in Lexington, SC. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC and conventional machining equipment while ensuring high-quality production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate: $25

Shift: 1st Shift | Overtime as Required

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and conventional machining equipment
  • Complete machine setup including fixturing, work offsets, tool building, and tool setting
  • Load, interpret, and troubleshoot M & G codes and CNC programs
  • Proof programs and make machine adjustments as needed during production
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and written instructions
  • Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and other measuring equipment
  • Identify tooling, inserts, and adjustments needed for production changeovers
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to ensure part quality and productivity
  • Record productivity data and complete first article inspections
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, supervisors, and production teams to resolve floor-level issues
  • Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of machining experience preferred
  • Associate degree in a related field may substitute for experience
  • Experience in precision manufacturing environments preferred
  • Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC mills or lathes
  • Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection equipment
