General Labor Canning position ensures that help is given where needed to finish up production and then to set up for the next days production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES- Keeping the floor free from production related debris by sweeping, shoveling or washing product from the floors and disposing into proper bins if needed.
- Assist in completing rework as directed by supervisor .
- Responsible for helping unload cans from baskets.
- Safely operating a machine for Fill Room, Peanut Pad, or Freezer Greens Cutter.
- Responsible for stacking cans on pallets, using the Brite Stacker.
- Responsible for setting up for the next days production.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on production/canning needs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and written.
- Must have good mathematical skills including ability to use correct addition and subtraction.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and interpret instructions furnished in written,verbal, or diagram form.
