Position Summary
The Machine Operator will assist the Lawn & Garden department by safely operating equipment that produces quality product in the quantities pertaining to manufacturing orders issued by Team Leader. The Machine Operator will also follow the job packets to ensure use of correct materials for producing products, report correct production and scrap quantities, and record data on all necessary paperwork issued by Team Leader.
* Level of Machine Operator is based upon ability to satisfy requirements at each level.
Machine Operator III must demonstrate the ability to consistently meet production standards on packaging equipment that they are trained on.
Machine Operator II must demonstrate the ability to consistently meet and often exceed production standards on packaging equipment that they are trained on.
Machine Operator I is cross trained on a minimum of 3 various types of packaging equipment and can achieve/exceed production standards consistently on all machines that they are trained on.

Essential Functions:
- 95% Responsible for operating equipment at or above an efficient rate while inspecting the quality of the product
- 5% Responsible for maintaining the equipment in good working condition and notifying the Team Lead of potential maintenance items
Secondary Functions:
- Follow safety and attendance policy
- Participate in Identifying Safe and Unsafe work behaviors
- Assist in other areas as needed by Production or Team Lead
Position Specifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to operate a manual and electric pallet jack.
- Must be able to read information and numbers, perform basic mathematical calculations, and write legibly.
