Job Summary
The Sustainability Steward will play a key role in advancing USC Upstate’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. This student position supports campus‑wide sustainability initiatives through hands‑on activities and outreach efforts.
Responsibilities- Recycling Programs: Assist with plastic film recycling and promote proper recycling of plastics and aluminum on campus.
- Social Media & Communications: Create engaging content for sustainability‑related social media channels and maintain communication with community partners.
- Event Planning: Help organize and execute special events that promote sustainability awareness and practices.
- Service‑Learning Facilitation: Support service‑learning projects that connect students with sustainability‑focused community initiatives.
- Campus Advocacy: Serve as a champion for sustainability by educating peers, encouraging participation in green programs, and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship.
- Must be a currently enrolled USC Upstate student in good academic standing.
- Interest in sustainability, environmental issues, and community engagement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
