Able SC Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator provides direct services and support to the people we serve. The volunteer position involves interacting with the community to provide information and referrals to callers, direct independent living skills training and group training, deliver durable medical equipment, and serve as a peer mentor to other people with disabilities.

• Community Support:
  Help individuals gain professional and office skills through structured volunteering opportunities; teach volunteers workplace skills, help set professional goals, and ensure volunteers have necessary supports; manage volunteer schedules; coordinate community service events; participate in community service events, outreach programs, and education projects.
• Peer Mentorship:
  Provide one-on-one mentorship to individuals using volunteerism as a stepping stone toward employment; serve as a peer mentor for the rights of people with disabilities.
• One-on-One Skill Support:
  Provide one-on-one services to individuals, including one-on-one meetings to discuss goals, help create individualized goal plans, and support the person with peer support.
