South Carolina Community Coordinator

The South Carolina Community Coordinator supports Curing Kids Cancer's fundraising and community engagement efforts throughout South Carolina by coordinating events, cultivating community relationships, supporting volunteers, and providing administrative assistance to the development team. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring successful event execution and helping expand the organization's presence across the state.

• Lead and/or assist in planning, promoting, and executing fundraising events and programs like Golf tournaments, Fire Truck Pulls, Retail Icon Campaigns, Coaches Curing Kids Cancer, September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Run With All Your Heart 5k, Hearts of Gold Gala, and a local Clay Shoot by
• Coordinating event logistics, including volunteer scheduling, guest registration, and timelines.
• Managing sponsorship sales, fulfillment, and deliverables.
• Coordinating silent and live auction item procurement and event checklists, staying within budget.
• Build relationships with local businesses, sponsors, donors, schools, and community groups to encourage participation, sponsorship, and awareness.
• Maintain communication with volunteers, event participants, and community partners before, during, and after events
• Track event details, donations and budgets, sponsorship commitments, auction items, and follow-up tasks in coordination with the development team.
• Provide on-site support before, during, and after fundraising events, including event setup, registration, volunteer coordination, sponsor hospitality, and event breakdown.
• Assist with thank-you communications, donor stewardship, internal reporting, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
• Represent Curing Kids Cancer in a professional and mission-focused manner at community events and meetings.

• Must reside in Columbia, South Carolina, or the surrounding Midlands area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable serving as a public-facing ambassador for Curing Kids Cancer through presentations, community events, media interviews, and on-camera content.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently within established priorities.
• One to three years of experience in nonprofit organizations, event coordination, fundraising, marketing, customer service, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and donor management systems
• Enter and maintain accurate donor, sponsor, volunteer, and event information in the organization's donor database.
• The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced event environment, and is passionate about making a difference for children with cancer.

• Full-time, with occasional evening and weekend hours for events.
• Ability to travel locally and nationally, including occasional overnight travel, to support fundraising events, donor engagement, and organizational initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Curing Kids Cancer's mission and fundraising initiatives.
