The Philanthropy Officer, Engagement Networks is a revenue generating role on the UWM Resource Development Team and serves as a key connector and staff partner to the Women in Philanthropy (WIP) engagement network and plays a supporting role in the development of new revenue strategies that expand geographic and demographic reach.
The position is charged with creating meaningful engagement opportunities that expand and deepen existing relationships and build prospect pipelines for new donors, volunteers and corporate opportunities. S/he supports the execution of unique strategic initiatives, fundraising efforts, membership engagement, and signature events to strengthen community partnerships and advance United Way of the Midlands' impact across all counties.
The Philanthropy Officer plays a critical role in managing and growing UWM’s portfolio of existing, new and prospective donors and volunteers. This relationship builder is simultaneously a fundraiser, storyteller and community connector, creating pathways for volunteers, donors and emerging leaders to become long-term investors and advocates for UWM.
Position Responsibilities – Essential- Build pipeline of prospects that are cultivated and stewarded through moves management into portfolio of key relationships
- Implement and manage customized engagement experiences and services for UWM key relationships
- Coordinate project logistics with internal departments and community partners
- Project management including logistics, internal/external coordination, timelines, deliverables, reporting and outcomes evaluation
- Identify and qualify prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
- Use data and CRM tools to prioritize opportunities, manage relationships effectively and move through solicitation cycles
- Develop compelling presentations that connect a partner’s interests with United Way’s mission.
- Maintain ongoing communication and stewardship with volunteers and donors to build long-term relationships.
- Prepare donor impact reports, stewardship communications, proposals, and recognition materials.
- Support the Women in Philanthropy (WIP) Volunteer Committee and Subcommittees in priorities and achievement of annual goals
- Coordinate committee meetings, communications, project timelines, and volunteer activities.
- Support the planning and execution of Women in Philanthropy signature initiatives by collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful implementation of events and engagement activities
- Represent United Way of the Midlands at community meetings, networking events, and speaking engagements.

- Motivated, attentive to detail, relationship-oriented professional who is passionate about community impact and committed to growing United Way revenue by donor engagement, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team working to improve lives across the Midlands now and for future generations.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage donors, partners and community stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor relations, sales, account management, non-profit development or related field.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Self starter that is detail-oriented: demonstrated high degree of accuracy in work, strength in creating detailed plans, ability to meet deadlines, self-organized and proficiency in managing a project from beginning to end
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent professional experience with demonstrated success in corporate engagement, fundraising, account management, volunteer engagement, or relationship management.
- Three to five years of experience in fundraising, account management, corporate relations, volunteer engagement, sales, or business development.
- Demonstrated success in relationship management and achieving fundraising or revenue goals.
- Experience planning events, volunteer projects, or employee engagement initiatives.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively
