Position: OB/Gyn Oncology NP/PA — Sign-On $10k + Survivorship Care
Location: Murrells Inlet

Job Description Summary The successful applicant will be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant interested in working full-time in the care of patients with gynecologic cancer. The role will join a busy Division that includes 7 Gynecologic Oncologists. The Division specializes in the diagnosis, surgery, treatment and management of cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and vulvar cancer with compassion and thoroughness.

This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Salaried/Exempt. Hours per week: 40. Scheduled work hours/shift:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Patient Population Focus: Inpatient, Outpatient.

Patient Population Age Range: 13 years — death.

Required Minimum Training: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current license or eligibility for license as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and current license or eligibility for license as an APRN.

  • APRN License Type/Certification:
    AGPNP/ANP (Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP or Adult NP):
    Adult patients (13 years to death), stable chronic disease state management or primary care setting.
  • FNP (Family NP): (Birth to death) Stable chronic disease state management, primary care across the lifespan.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a PA, FNP or ANP in Women’s Health or Surgical Oncology.

Preferred Training and

Experience:

  • AGACNP/ACNP (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner):
    Adult patients (13 years to death), acutely ill or injured, potentially unstable, or technologically dependent (vents, drips, monitors, etc.).
  • WHNP (Women’s Health NP): (12 years to death) OB/GYN services and well woman care. Only eligible to work in women’s health; however, not certified to deliver babies.

Job Duties: Provides direct care to patients through the following activities:

  • Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations.
  • Evaluates and treats based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges, skill and proficiency as approved by the Clinical Division Chief including endometrial biopsies, colposcopies, vulvar biopsies, wound debridement, and vacuum therapy.
  • Develops and implements the Women’s Inclusive Sexual Health Clinic (WISH) for patients with active cancer and those in remission experiencing sexual health function issues.
  • Manages a Survivorship Clinic for cancer survivors weekly at Hollings Cancer Center, Tidelands in Murrells Inlet, and as needed in other outreach locations (e.g., Florence and Bluffton).
  • Provides on‑call services for inpatient population in coordination with supervising physicians.
  • Assures optimal outcomes for patients in a time‑efficient manner while maintaining customer satisfaction and institutional goals, working with a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Initiates referrals to other health care providers or consults with attending or collaborating physicians.
  • Documents and bills for direct care provided.
  • Utilizes current research and evidence‑based decision‑making in all clinical practice.
  • Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.
  • Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
  • Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student and facilitate learning of new team members.
  • Maintains required licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
