Overview
Life Bridge Health is a regional healthcare organization in Maryland providing a comprehensive continuum of care including hospitals, specialty centers, and community health‑related operations. We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Float Pool within the Healthcare & Medical Services department.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will provide direct, patient‑centered nursing care across a variety of inpatient units and clinical settings, stepping in where needs are greatest to support safe staffing and high‑quality care. As a Float Pool LPN, you will collaborate closely with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver evidence‑based care, perform nursing interventions, and ensure a safe and healing environment for a diverse patient population.
Your daily responsibilities will include performing comprehensive and focused patient assessments within LPN scope, accurately obtaining and documenting vital signs, monitoring patient status, and promptly reporting changes in condition. You will administer medications and treatments as ordered, following all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, assist with activities of daily living, and provide compassionate bedside care that reflects our commitment to dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
You will also perform wound care, basic respiratory treatments, catheter care, specimen collection, and other clinical procedures consistent with Life Bridge Health policies and Maryland practice standards.
As part of the Float Pool, you will regularly orient to and work on different units, which may include medical‑surgical, telemetry, step‑down, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and specialty areas based on your competencies and training. You will quickly adapt to varying patient populations, unit workflows, and team dynamics while maintaining consistent, high‑quality care. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will provide clear handoffs, educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions (within scope), and actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds and huddles.
