Job SummaryThe Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the operational functions of all staff within their assigned perioperative department and coordinates the daily activities pertaining to nursing care in all areas. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the mission, vision, strategic imperatives and standards of Lexington Medical Center (LMC), American Nurses Association Standards and in accordance with the provisions set forth by the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

: 3 Years of Perioperative Nursing Experience

Required Certifications/Licensure
:
Current RN license to practice in the state of South Carolina;
National nursing certification in specialty of area assigned or must obtain within 1 year of hire date into the position.

- Establish and maintain ongoing coaching and mentoring role with assigned staff to include annual evaluations, performance improvement and clinical education needs assessments.
- Involvement in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and orientation processes.
- Involvement in investigation and resolution of patient, visitor and staff concerns.
- Represents Nurse Manager in their absence.
- Involvement in Unit Base governance.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to address LMC guidelines and policies.
- Following the appropriate chain of command in dealing with issues

- Reviewing trends and recommending opportunities for improvement.

- Assessing staff performance at critical interval, reviews disciplinary action with employees and completes annual Performance Appraisals.
- Promoting staff and patient satisfaction.
- Utilizing the service recovery process to resolve complaints (GIFT).
