** A Brief Overview*
* The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

** What you will do*
* + Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.

+ Measure and record patients' vital signs.

+ Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.

+ Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.

+ Update charts, patient files, and medical records.

+ Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitate timely specialized interventions.

+ Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.

+ Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.

** Education Qualifications*
* + Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required

+ Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred

+ Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred

** Experience Qualifications*
* +  Previous experience in PACU/OPS  Preferred

+  Critical Care experience  Required

* Skills and Abilities

*
* + Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers

** Licenses and Certifications*
* + Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association  is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is   Required

+ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association   Preferred

+ Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing
