The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.
What You Will Do- Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs.
- Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
- Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
- Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
- Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitate timely specialized interventions.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
- Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
- Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred
- Previous experience in PACU/OPS Preferred
- Critical Care experience Required
- Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers
- Basic Life Support Certified
- American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified
- American Heart Association Preferred - Registered Nurse
- South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing
