Day (United States of America)
Shift is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8AM-8:30pm
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring that care is individualized; coordinating care through effective partnerships recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient care outcomes.
- Provides relationship‑based patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Partners with the patient and significant others (as appropriate) using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report; interdisciplinary rounds; just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching; keeping the patient and significant others updated and making the patient’s goals the focus of the plan of care).
- Practices using current clinical practice standards and fosters teamwork and collaboration.
- Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods and timely documentation.
- Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participates and supports performance improvement initiatives, including research, and promotes safety and quality patient care by initiating and/or leading activities and actively supporting shared governance at all levels.
- Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessment, required mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
- Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines) to ensure a current and future qualified workforce, modeling professional practice and creating a healthy work environment.
- Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research and performance improvement, participates in value analysis, and supports data collection and inquiry to improve patient care.
- Upholds all health care system/organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Proactively plans for patient care across the care continuum while giving direct patient care.
- Participates in the development of protocols and procedures, collaborates with care managers and other team members to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., reduce readmission rates, avoidable days, adverse events).
- Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
Minimum Education
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program; graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing (Required).
- Bachelor's degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (Preferred).
- Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN – Multi‑state Compact.
- Basic Life Support or BLS – Instructor.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS – Instructor or ACLS – Provisional.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS – Instructor or PALS – Provisional.
- Minimum 5 years direct patient care nursing experience (Required).
