Your job is more than a job. The Acute Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients across various acute care units. As a Float Pool RN, you will be a valued member of our team, bringing flexibility, adaptability, and specialized clinical skills to support units where your expertise is needed most.
Responsibilities- Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered nursing care across a variety of acute care units.
- Rapidly assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical adaptability when transitioning between specialties and patient populations.
- Serve as a resource for staff, promoting best practices in alignment with Magnet principles and academic learning environments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Precept nursing students and new graduate nurses.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience required. - Prior experience in multiple specialty areas strongly preferred (e.g., trauma, neuro, cardiac, surgical, or telemetry).
- Current Louisiana RN license (or eligibility for licensure).
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Specialty certification(s) such as CCRN, TCRN, or Stroke Nursing (NIHSS) encouraged.
- Previous Float Pool or travel nursing experience.
- Demonstrated success working across multiple clinical settings.
