American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Stepdown RN with 2+ years of experience and telemetry/IV start skills for a 13-week assignment requiring an active SC or compact RN license.
Details- Acute care hospital setting on the Cardiac Stepdown (PCU/DOU/IMC) unit
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Rotating weekend requirement
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- May be required to float between Downtown and Northeast campus units based on census and staffing needs, adjusting to the ratio of the floated unit
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required in hand (pending licenses not accepted for hire)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Telemetry monitoring and IV start skills required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- First-time travelers will be considered, though candidates with prior travel experience are preferred
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be prioritized; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff including contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Parking is available at no cost, though a parking pass is required and must be picked up during badge pickup
