American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years L&D experience and SC or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
- Care for antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum patients including couplet care and newborn care
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Performs deliveries, C-section circulation/scrubbing, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation support
- Uses Philips Intellispace fetal monitoring system and Omnicell medication dispensing system
- Charts in Epic
- 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45p-7:15a
- Requires working every other weekend
- On-call requirement of two 12-hour shifts within a 6-week period
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP
- Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
- AHA-issued certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Comfort with couplet care or transition nursery preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump management
- Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries preferred
- Experience scrubbing for C-sections preferred
- Navy surgical scrubs provided
- Facility is an acute care hospital with 200-300+ births per month
- Free parking with pass provided at start date
- May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for this position
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
