American Traveler is seeking an ER RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and a South Carolina or compact RN license in hand.
Details- Acute care hospital setting with 75 staffed beds
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
- Non-trauma designated ED with STEMI and Stroke certified status
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
- Weekend and as-needed holiday coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- May be required to float between Downtown and Northeast campuses based on census and staffing needs
- Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with central line care and management
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience administering IV vasopressors and procedural sedation monitoring
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- SSN and driver's license required for consideration
- Provide emergency care across a range of cases including cardiac monitoring, trauma-related shock, and pediatric emergencies
- Treat conditions such as gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and head injuries
- Royal blue scrub color required for the ER unit
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of offer for facility approval
- Candidates with 7 or more non-holiday RTO days or holiday RTO may experience delays in the offer process
- First-time travelers accepted if they meet the required 2 years of ER experience
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius, though non-local candidates are prioritized
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
